Sara McGillewie

Sara McGillewie is pursuing a PhD in Biology with a concentration in Sub-Antarctic Biological Conservation at the University of North Texas. Her research interests include the preservation and conservation of natural habitats for mammals and the effects co-habitation with humans.

Sara worked with Dr. James Kennedy and Dr. Ricardo Rozzi.

In Chile, Sara worked with Dr. Rozzi and a small interdisciplinary team to assess taxonomic bias on park signs. The aim of the investigation was to identify the values we impose on our outdoor spaces and the impact on the creatures who live within them.

Sara will present her research at the 2019 Ecological Society of America and United States Society for Ecological Economics Joint Meeting in Louisville, KY in August.
